Hybrids and Terminators

Fellow antipodean oldhammerer Captain Crooks (check out his sweet blog with some hilarious battle reports among lots of other cool stuff here) recently got back from a far off distant land, I had assumed him lost at sea, but to my surprise he had somehow returned from his perilous journey. Pressing a mysterious cardboard box into my hands he gasped madly "take this, it is now yours, I can no longer endure its burden" and ran off cackling.

The box hummed with an unholy energy. It called to me to open it. I was helpless to resist the urge of the other-worldly force."Lead! Glorious lead!" I exclaimed as I tore open the box and succumbed to insanity.

That is the last thing I remember until just moments ago, when I regained consciousness, covered in paint and with these newly painted figures on my desk.

That explains why I haven't posted in a while.

  7. Lovely stuff, the magus in particular. Is that a custom design; I don't recognise it.

  8. That ogryn hybrid is one of the best models I have seen this year. And I have seen quite a few. The larger size of the model really shows off your painting style (I am guessing that you use a fair bit of drybrushing?) and the limited palette really draws the detail together, and creates a coherent look with the rest of your genestealer stuff. Those old school terminators also caught my eye, and I am especially impressed with the free hand iconography. Fine work. Fine work!

  9. Great stuff --- I really like the colours on the termis; pretty similar to some space marine test schemes I have been mooting of late, I may steal some of your ideas....

  12. Hello there! I am getting to the point of painting some Space Marines myself- just wondering what paints you used to achieve these as I really like the green.... any help you can offer would be appreciated. Also, what did you use for the mesh on the base? Flyscreen?

    Thanks!
